Casa Cenote
Open cenote · Cavern
An open-air cenote fringed with mangrove roots, bright and easy — the classic first cenote dive, and gentle enough for Discover Scuba Diving.

About this site
Casa Cenote is an open-air cenote, flooded with natural light and fringed with mangrove roots that reach down into the water. Because it is shallow, bright and open to the sky, it is the classic first cenote dive and gentle enough for Discover Scuba Diving and training. Look for the halocline where fresh and salt water meet, turtles resting among the roots, and — if you are very lucky — a manatee passing through.
Marine life spotted here
- Freshwater turtles
- Mangrove snapper
- Tarpon
- Manatees (rare)
